Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Its Back To Work I Go (29 March 2007 - 7:27 a.m.)

Tuesdays independent medical exam went okay, except the doctor hurt me when he pressed too hard on the areas where I experience sciatica symptoms. I was in quite a bit of pain when I saw my regular doctor yesterday moreso than usual. Still, Dr. Spine Specialist cleared me to return to work on April 10th (when school resumes after spring break).

It's going to be very difficult to work while experiencing this level of discomfort. It's also going to be very difficult to squeeze in physical therapy and pain management once I'm back at work. Just thinking about it makes my brain want to shut down.

The doctor ordered a back brace for me, but I wouldnt be caught dead wearing that hideous contraption out in public! He did give me a note for Dial-A-Ride, so we'll see if that works out. It would be nice if SOMETHING would.

Actually, something good did happen this morning. I received an email that brought tears to my eyes. I was (and still am) so moved by the senders compassion and kind words. This person wrote to say that she found my journal through another online diarist. She said it is her habit to begin to read new diaries with the first entry in the archives, and work her way forward.

When she got to the entries about my brother, Mark, she wept. That really touched my heart. Thank you, New Reader. I am truly grateful that you took the time to make contact, and to offer condolences. It meant a lot to me. You are most welcome here.

Gotta get ready to go to physical therapy. And after that, Ill be doing some volunteer work with my mother. Were going to make Easter baskets for a charity Easter egg hunt.
