Is there a medical supply store close by where you live? They should have the collar. Did any of the tests you had hurt? I am thinking I need to see someone about my back. I am in pain too. I hope you can get some relief soon.

At least you have SOME answers! Can you buy the collar online if necessary, since you don't drive?

I'm glad you have some answers, anyway! I agree with Stefani -- look online. Maybe Google "medical supplies"?

I thought you had surgery on the lumbar herniation?

Carol, you might have to go for an MRI, and that doesn't hurt at all. It would only pose a problem if you have difficulty lying still for 25 minutes or so. I did look for the collar online, and found more than I bargained for. A couple of consumers said the collars are VERY uncomfortable, and the darn things LOOK uncomortable! I might hold off on that... As for bb's question - I did have surgery, but this is a different disc. :-/

Hope you feel better soon. If you can't find a soft cervical collar I have one you can borrow, but they are uncomfortable. I sleep on a special neck pillow.

Now that they know what's causing the pain, they need to fix it for you. Otherwise, what's the use? And not with something that's as painful as the original condition, either.

I agree with Michael, Answers without solutions are of little use. For me, who once had a broken neck, I find that pillows of the right sort, in the right position, fluffed up to the right degree helps me get a more or less pain free sleep. Hope you get the needed help soonest.
