Good for you for getting a police report. It should smooth the process with the woman's insurance company!

Those Honda Accords DO run hot. Mine did, and it finally blew the head gasket, not long after I bought it to replace the Escort with--you got it-- the blown head gasket. Some jerk almost rear ended me on the freeway this morning, which would have undone all the nice body work we just had done on the van. GOMA (get off my ass), dude! In CA, anyway, if the woman was backing up, it's entirely her fault. Bummer to have a "new" car already going to the body shop, though. Hopefully the woman's insurance also pays for a rental car. Hey -- y'all can rent a PT Cruiser!!

I'm glad it wasn't a serious accident with injuries but the stress of it all, and she just got the car! :( I've noticed people not looking out for other cars when they're backing out of parking spaces. Is it just me, or does this happen far more often these days? (Did I just sound old?!)

What a bummer, isn't odd that some one gets something "new" and someone else comes along to mess it up? My poor car has so many dings and scratches from other people in parking lots I guess. I sure didn't do it. My daughter and two dogs have done some damage too. She put a big scratch on my car recently and didn't even say I am sorry. Glad it was only a minor accident and hope all will be fixed soon. It is a nice looking car.

Boy that just wrecks your day when your car gets hit, doesn't it? You just know there will be headaches down the road concerning repair shops and insurance companies... it's all very stressful and in this heat it's so unwelcome. Glad it was only the body of the car that was injured and not a human body, too!

Always a report it seems. When daughter's Camero was brand new a guy in a big pick up caught her front end as she let him out of a parking lot. Guess he forgot about the bed of the truck. His insurance paid, car was fixed. Shortly thereafter she went to put something in the passenger side. Someone had hit her and of course she doesn't know who, or where.

Once had somebody back out of a parking space into the side of my car -- the jerk didn't see me because he had not bothered to clear away any of the snow on his back window and his side mirrors.

[Hit enter too quickly] Of course care covered with snow sound refreshing on a day like today. (And I'd guess that is is just as hot in your neighborhood.) Glad that she was okay. Cars aare easier to fix than people.

That stinks! Hope the lady was insured. The Grand Am is a lovely car, I used to sell them so I know. Barring more accidents Leigh should have good use of it for years. Most of Wolf's school is air conditioned as is his school bus, so the heat hasn't been a major factor, but the doors to the playground are locked and the kids don't tend the school garden when it's too hot like this. Stay inside and in the rooms with a/c is the summer session rule. Bummer things have to be shuffled around in your district to beat the heat, but I guess if you don't lose any pay it might be worth getting to 'chill' at home during the worst of it. (mad cackles over anything being 'chill') Glad nobody got hurt in the accident. ~LA
