I'm simply amazed. What about the ER?

I'm dumbfounded. A) Like you need this right now when you're already so overstretched. B) If your HMO is willing to pay for you to be seen then the docs have no right to turn you away. C) Are you in a union? Can they do anything? Oh sweetie, I hope you are able to rest and mend up your back a little. ~LA

Yes, I belong to a union, but they are very weak, and won't get involved in medical issues. And the problem with the ER is, my HMO won't cover that unless it's a genuine emergency or I have prior authorization. By the way, I received a couple of emails from people saying their comments have been rejected as spam. Diaryland does that every once in a while, and I'm sorry. It's upsetting for me, too.

When I worked , my doctor wouldn't see workman comp situations. very few around here will and the ones that do are not the best docs in the world.Frivolous lawsuits have messed up everything for the honest person. I hope you feel better and get this worked out. But I think the kid is wrong no matter how much he apologized, he was doing something he knew he shouldn't do and if he had played by the rules you wouldn't have gotten hurt.

Why, oh, why do kids think that looking at porn on a PUBLIC COMPUTER will go unnoticed?! I cannot tell you how many times I've strolled past the computers and noticed it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't look at it, but damn, do it at home! And the kid shouldn't have pushed you, because if he was even a decent liar, he could've said that it came up by accident. I've had that problem, looking up real information for instructors, but having porn pop up instead. Don't ever look up trips for senior citizens to Tunica, MS. The first thing that popped up was a porn site! To make this comment even longer, I am pissed that you're getting the run around on this--just go to the ER, fall on the floor and pretend you're going to die a horrendous death if you don't get treatment. They have to do something, even if they just pump you full of Dilaudid or some other morphine. GAH!

I worked in a computer lb in a high school a few years ago. One of the students was angry at the librarian and he called her the c word. I over- heard him and reported it to the librarian. It turned into this huge mess - he got into trouble for making "terroristic threats" and I had to go to court and testify against him. I had to repeat the c word to the judge about 4 times. The funny thing about the whole thing was that I saw him a few years later and he apoligized to me for being a "jerk". He did end up in jail a yeat later for breaking and entering. As far as you getting hurt - your school should have a Dr. that you go to if you are injured at work. I can't believe your H.R. department didn't tell you that. Call them on Monday - school districts employ so many people - I've never heard of them not having specific doctors!! I was a principal's secretary in my former life - there were specific steps we had to take if an employee was injured at work.

oh dear what an awful time for you! and the run around you are getting is totally unacceptable! here we have clinics for workman's comp patients. do they have anything like that where you are? be your own advocate hon and make someone see you...the last thing you need right now is severe back pain with no meds to help ease the pain...and you should get an x-ray too it sounds like! *gentle hug* ... ~zen

Around here we also have a special clinic that just handles workers' comp injuries. I should think there would be one near you if you live near a large city at all. CAll your local hospital maybe and ask to speak with the administration office. They might direct you to one. Everyone's protecting their derrier's lately. I hope your back heals and soon!
