I wish I could wrap you in a warm blanket and make all the pain go away.

I'm with Miz S; as I was reading, I was thinking that dealing with all that grief could be affecting you physically. The way you describe the pain sounds different from sciatica or fibromyaligia to me, you know? No one should have to endure such a double whammy of emotional *and* physical pain. I still think x-rays are a good idea, if only to rule out some things. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you--I wish I could help in some way.

This definitely isn't associated with fibromyalgia, but I'm pretty certain that the searing pain in the buttock area is sciatica. Of course, the emotional trauma doesn't help my physical condition. Thanks to both of you (and anyone else who might comment) for the kind words and good wishes.

Man, I wish there was a pill I could send you to take this all away. Well, not take it away, for it does serve some purpose, but damn! Enough already! I have to chime in to agree on the grief/pain connection, but when you grieve, the last thing you think about is your own health. So start being "selfish" for a bit and get better!

Periods of stress in my life have had profound effects on my health, Stephanie. And grief is a period of stress -- probably one of the worst. I do hope you can come to terms with your grief, and that what the ladies told you helps.
