This is just unconscionable! What is the matter with these dolts? Good for you for standing up to them about the note -- that's just ridiculous. I hope everything turns out well.

Bastards! That's all I have to say.

I can't stand people who use their power over others to intimidate. Give them everything they ask for within reason and stick by your guns. Don't ever let them intimidate you into thinking you don't have a right to persue the comp claim. Have you spoken with the lawyer you met with about this new development? This may be the reason to have a lawyer in your corner.

Meh. You need to mete out some good ol' Charles Bronson justice. I'll bet the checks'll start rolling in THEN! But a lawyer's the way to go--why they are giving you the run-around like this is beyond me. Hopefully one of them will be hurt and be in more pain than you and have various bureaucrats screw them around. Ahhh, sweet justice!

I was afraid this would happen. I am so sorry. Things are so difficult when you try to do anything with the government. I know that having to deal with all the people and paperwork when you don't feel well is very difficult. I don't keep up with it very well myself.

Document everything. Write down every phone call -- date, time, who you spoke with, and a summary of the call as you understood it. Don't let them intimidate you or put you off.

Remember I told you that I used to be the Principal's Secretary? Listen to me...you must get a lawyer. I know it is an added expense, but you need someone to be YOUR ADVOCATE! They are harassing you because they can get to you - don't let them. It will be so much easier when you can say to them, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'll have to ask my lawyer to get back to you." Listen, you know how school districts feel about "support personel". We are expendable - there's always another mom out there who's looking for a job that gives her the summers off or the same days off as the kids have. They're afraid of the teachers, but not support personnel. You really can't even depend on the union - you got hurt at work and you need a lawyer. My God, didn't the kid push you while you were doing your job!!!!??? Stephanie, you need a lawyer! You need someone to stand up for you! OK lecture over...now start looking in the yellow pages! :)

Just a thought, when you see a lawyer ask him if you can go for the kids parents for damages and such.

Aarrrrgh! This is just insane! As if you don't have enough on your plate! I salute you for even getting out of bed each day, Stephanie. The union may not be much help, but contacting the union is a good step, and in my own case, years ago, letting admin know that I'd contacted the union helped to counter some of the intimidation I was receiving.

From my own experience with workers comp, I believe you have a strong legal standing, but that doesn't mean the school can't make it hard on you. I just don't get why they would want to. It's actually harder to fight a work comp case than to let it take its natural course. I hope the fight doesn't wear you down, because I really want to see you beat these bastards.

Well, that is just shitty. I'm sending you some good vibes. I hope everything works out alright.

I'm good and mad today (over another issue), so if you'd like to take advantage of my Irish temper and have me work someone over for you, just say the word! *sigh* It's a little scary how much I wish I COULD do that. I know you must be feeling so defeated right now, but don't let them intimidate you. You're in the right here, and I second Joan's advice. Arrrghhh!
