Well done! You'll be knitting us all sexy sweaters and sofa slipcovers soon, I just know it. As for the Cheater, he'll get his. You dassn't piss off the witches! ~LA

Look at you! I've never been able to knit -- I used to be able to crochet, but that only involved one needle!

I still haven't progressed to more than knitting scarves. But it does relax me. I did have to quit for a while though because for some reason knitting makes my neck and shoulders hurt. Good luck, you will catch on it.

I used to love knitting and crocheting. I will pass on a tip re: knitting to you - RELAX. Like Carol said, your neck and shoulders will hurt if you tense up, which I used to do. Also, relax your finger grip on the needles. I used to have a death-grip on the yard and needles, and my stitches came out so tight. Finally I learned to hold the needles loosely, and to keep the stitches loose, as well. Much better. It takes a while but with practice, you'll get the hang of it. When I was laid up at home for 6 weeks with a cast on my leg, I knitted an entire Irish wool cabled sweater (off white) that was very intricate and detailed. It came out great, but unfortunately I gave it to my (then) boyfriend and never saw it again.

I can't recommend highly enough the Klutz knitting book http://www.nakedsheep.com/klknkit.html It has a couple of cool little patterns, including cellphone holders and the like, and it's very user friendly. I retaught myself how to knit, using this book. Of course, it could be looked on as a bad thing, as I now have a full-tilt yarn addiction!!

Nancy has knitted in the past and recently has taken it up again. I don't think I could ever knit. Oh, I suppose in theory I could learn the movements, but I think it would drive me insane and I would have a total mental meltdown. (By the way -- I think you would not enjoy 300 -- too much graphic violence -- except you might like the way the queen dealt with the double-crossing politician in the meeting.)

Heh. Fuck all that stuff about inner peace. Let out the inner demon! I've always wanted to try knitting, but the thought of making my hands more occupied bothers me.

Once knitting starts to go bad don't try to fix it that evening! Put it down and come back. It seems like once it goes bad it just gets worse the more you try (Same with love). (take a stab for me too!)

Hooray for the knitting! And look at you, frogging work you don't like and everything. You go, girl!! I am proud of you. I think once you get over that learning hump (it took me awhile - it's such an unnatural feeling process) you'll find it soothing and addictive. Heh, sounds like you're already soothed and addicted.

Knitting needles have many, many uses. Mwah-ha-ha-ha! I'm very proud of you for persevering. You'll be on to sweaters and such in no time!
