Sounds like this is the time that your attorney should really be doing his work. Obviously your doc blew it and the "unbiased" opinion of the comp selected doc should be taken into consideration before you return to work. I hope your district's spring break doesn't end on Monday. You need time to speak with your attorney. Have a great holiday!

I agree with greenwitch above, you need to throw the ball into your attorney's court and let him/her take some action now. Isn't that what they get paid the big bucks to do? Good luck with it, Steph.

There you go, sweetheart. Told you that you wouldn't have to go back. Yeah, maybe for a couple days this week, but you need to be fixed and your job redefined before you have to go back in an all the time way. Don't spin, just trust. ~LA

Wow. I agree; this latest report must be considered! That lawyer needs to get on the ball.

I'm...I'm dumbfounded! Can you say "confusing"? Who picked the first doctor you went to--your lawyer? I hope this new report means you DON'T have to go back to work full-time and with no restrictions. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Go to work and absolutely REFUSE to bend or lift ANYTHING. Period. Sit at the desk, assist students verbally, be on the computer. But do NOT work in the stacks or wherever it is that requires you to bend and lift. I think you should sue the first doctor, frankly. If that can be done, I mean...

I think it is simple...your doctor missed the boat and the Independent Medical Examiner is covering his ass, so to speak. He isn't going to send you back to work if it looks like that will put them at greater liablility if you injure yourself further. That is how I read it.

All of the above. Also, Happy Easter.

Ditto all the above. What are your "people" thinking by sending you to work when you're obviously not able to bend, lift, etc.?! Just what do they gain from this?

My idea, fire your doctor and see if the independent medical examiner takes private patients. I think Sunshyn has the absolute solution to the contretemps you find yourself in at the moment. Don't bend, lift, push or tug anything, get your lawyer on the ball and refer your administration to your lawyer if they expect you to do such things. Rootin' fer ya'
