Oh Steph...it stinks that you are being treated this way. When my ex was hurt on the job (messed up his back..ended up with a laminectomy (L5) and followup physical and occupational therapy..which screwed up his knee...that was such a fun time of my life). We lucked out and his friend was an attorney...not a workmen's comp one...but he took our case and had help from others in his offices so we were lucky (he always called us back and handled everything for us) The ex ended up released from therapy to return in a diminished capacity to his job (a manager in the seasonal department of a home improvement store)and the idiots terminated him for some inane reason. We sued and he was declared 60% incapacitated (he too had once had other back problems but they said that had nothing to do with his injury) and we recieved a settlement which was sent to us in a monthly check until we had received all the funds. It worked out fine for us..not easy by any means...but we were lucky to have an attorney who cared about us and fought for us. I hope you get things taken care of and get the care you need without the hassles. You know I am praying for you girl!

That's horrible! Why don't these people understand customer service??

I think it's time for your requests to be in writing, and a cc: at the bottom of each letter to the American Medical Association, the Better Business Bureau, whatever the authority for lawyers is, and anyone else you can think of who might be interested to know of their negligence. It's time for the big guns.

I second Bex's suggestion. It is amazing what a cc: IPRO (Island Peer Review Orgnaization) and local medical society will do to a doc's attention span. I imagine there is an equivilent for lawyers. Your daughters are beautiful just like you.

I third Bex's suggestion. I'm sure there's a "Fight Back" type of service in which you can get some assistance. The squeaky, loudly bitching wheel gets the grease. Say that the bad doctor is negligent. Go on TV, picket outside their office (better yet, have all your family do it--take turns!) Play crazy (i.e. very loud and vocal). I've done most of these when dealing with scam artists, and while it may take a while, it's definitely satisfying.

I just get new doctors when I can. Your pictures of you and the girls are wonderful :)

Cute girls, cute hairdos! My little girl just turned 19 in January :) Your doctors and lawyers should be tarred and feathered for being so negligent. It really sucks.

It makes me sick to think of so-called "professionals" not returning urgent phone calls. Doctors and lawyers betray their trust when they treat people that way. I like Bex's idea, too.
