I adore lilacs! It's funny that we wrote about them in the last couple days.

I love lilacs, too. have you fed your lilacs? How is your soil? Don't they prefer an acidic soil? I wish I knew so I could tell you but I don't know enough about them.

Also, remember to only prune lilacs right after they bloom, just take off the spent blossoms. If you wait too long into the summer or fall, you will be cutting off next years buds which set early. Who is mowing down you lilacs?? Perhaps a small cage or ring of some sort to remind others they are there? My favorites also. We had a whole side yard of 15 foot lilacs running down the entire property line when I was a kid. Mmmmm, smell so good!

I have always wanted a blue spruce tree. My daughter bought me one last year and we planted it. Then she hired a boy to weed eat the lawn and he whacked it down. I was so upset. Funny how things bloom at different times in areas. Our lilacs bloomed and are gone already a few weeks ago.

Once upon a time, we had lilacs, but they were so heavy that the branches would touch the ground. I wouldn't mind having a bunch now. Hmmmm....I have an idea! More planting!
